Silver Palate Hot and Spicy Nuts

November 23, 2019

These nuts are my favorite part of the holiday season. My mom used to make them every year, and the image of the recipe is actually taken from her copy of The Silver Palate Good Times cookbook. They’re spicy and salty and buttery. They make the best housewarming gifts in mason jars or christmas tins, I used to make them for my professors when I was in school. I made a large bucket of these for someone recently and apparently neglected to let them know that there was almost 3 sticks of butter involved because he has been eating them with frivolity for the past several weeks thinking that they were a healthy late night snack. They’re super easy and insanely tasty. I’d recommend using more cayenne than suggested, and if you can get your hands on Cajun Power Worcestershire Sauce it’s INSANELY good. I’ve been using it everywhere lately, roasted mushrooms with it, using it in soups and stocks and steaks.
